Just wanted to share my project life (http://www.beckyhiggins.com/ ) .
Just finished my week 11. I normally used all my leftover paper for this project. Like this week, I used my Prima - Madeline collection leftover from my last week Paperlane project. This way I can use my paper stash until the last bit. I hate to throw paper!!!! Especially the one that I love so much. Few weeks back I used my last bit of Cosmo Cricket -Everafter. I love that collection, I only have 3 or 4 sheets since I only started scrapbooking after that collection been released. It is almost nowhere to find now.
That's it. 'till the next post!!!!

It is pretty simple this week. No additional sheet for kids art work or star of the week certificate or other. Just photos and journalling. I bought the journalling cards from Daiso. They have 100 sheets pack of 5'x3' paper, so I have to cut it to 4'x3' to fit inside the journalling pocket. The good things about this Daiso paper is that they available in blank, graph and ledger background !!! .... if you want to make it look vintage just distressed it with antique linen-tim holtz distress ink, and voila! you have your vintage paper. Love those!!!
I will decorate the journal card with bits and pieces of patterned paper that I have as leftover. Butterfly here, border paper there, anything. The simple process of creating this card is very therapeutic to me. Even if I have just 10 minutes to spend in the craft room I can make one or two!!

Hi Riri, your post is the last drop for me, i WANT to have it too. I was thinking about "project life" for sometime already, so .. I think I am ready.. Just I do not know where here in Dubai I can get these page protectors?.. And thanks a lot for the Becky Higgins blog - such an inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteYeeahhhh!!! ... welcome to the crazy attraction of project life!!!! ... I love her blog to bits also. Such an inspiration. Marina, just do it. We are only at march now, but looking back from my photos from january have already surprised me. So many things happened and if it's not recorded the things would just pass like that .... too fast
ReplyDeleteI just used the normal American Craft album, I think Paperlane have it. First few page protectors that I used are just the normal one, I machine stitched it to be similar to becky's design.
Start on February I ordered them from Amazon. As Amazon did not ship to PO Box address therefore I got those shipped by Aramex shopandship. A pretty expensive option I may say, if you use to sewing machine then just stitch it. Very easy, good luck dear. :)
Hi again, Riri, i have some technical questions then - which thread color have you used for stitching and the sizes of pockets (may be i could see it somewhere in the net?) and where are the openings (front or back) and is it used for both sides?
ReplyDeleteHi Marina. The pocket is only from one side. I normally used white thread to stitch it.
ReplyDeleteHerewith is the link which hopefully will help you on the sizing (http://astore.amazon.com/beckhigg-20/detail/B0049MFWZI)
I normally measure and mark the 12x12 pocket with pencil (follow the image), then insert a thick paper inside the pocket before cutting the opening for each pocket. The thick paper is to prevent you from cutting both sides. Later you can stitch it following the pencil marker.
Good luck, pls update me on the outcome ... :)
Thank You Riri for your help!!! I have got the album and extra page protectors, will make some more research, preparation and will start!! Will keep you up to date!!!... How exciting!!..
